Animated Lyme disease map series, Appalachia, 2000-2018

This animated map series visualizes annual county-level Lyme disease incidence data reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (available in .csv file) using a dot density map, in which a dot is randomly placed within each county for each case reported that year. Cases within Appalachia, as defined by the Appalachian Regional Commission, are displayed as black points, and cases outside of Appalachia are displayed as grey points.
