The research documents the development and evaluation of a novel balance training exercise referred to as task-specific step training. This training aims to improve how individuals respond to a trip while walking and enhance their ability to quickly recover their balance and thus avoid falling.

A published manuscript providing more detail on this task-specific step training regimen is here: 10.3389/fspor.2022.1003813

Another manuscript that compares the effects of this task-specific step training regimen to treadmill-based perturbation balance training and a control group is currently under review. Once published, a DOI to this manuscript will be added to this record.
