Tapping birdwatchers to promote bird-friendly coffee consumption and conserve birds - Dataset

Online survey data and survey instrument to accompany Williams, Dayer, Hernandez-Aguilera, Phillips, Faulkner-Grant, Gomez, and Rodewald (2021) in People and Nature. This online survey was conducted from September 8th to October 3rd, 2016 via Qualtrics. The sample of 5,000 was drawn from Cornell Lab of Ornithology members or donors who gave at least $100. We sent participants an email solicitation from the Lab of Ornithology with an individualized link to the survey. Up to three reminder emails were sent to those who had not completed the survey. The survey was conducted with approval from the Cornell University Institutional Review Bird for Human Participants Participants (Protocol #1608006552). Overall, 1354 people responded to the survey. The overall response rate was 27%.
