SABER Zonal Mean Temperature and Gravity Wave Amplitude

Data files containing zonal mean binned temperature and derived gravity wave (GW) amplitude over 65-85°N for the northern hemisphere winter years 2003-2020. The GW amplitude is calculated from temperature data retrieved from Version 2.07 Level2A Sounding of the Atmosphere using Broadband Emission Radiometry/ Thermosphere Ionosphere Mesosphere Energetics Dynamics (SABER/TIMED) (http://saber.gats-inc.com). Each file gives altitude profiles in terms of day of year (doy). Day of year 0 indicates 1 January. Only values until altitude of ~100 km should be used. Since SABER temperature above ~100 km has large errors (>5 K), the GW amplitudes above this altitude should be used with caution.
